There has been a lot going on with the town both before, during and after covid-19 made it’s pressence felt in the hospitality industry.
I hope this blog will help highlight what’s going on around the town centre.
Baker’s Vaults
This was the revitalisation of Stockport Marketplace, was taken over by Jamie Langrish and Jonny Booth who refurbished and reopen the pub. The pub has been run by Luke since it was refurbished.
The pub has a range of cask beer from Robinson’s Brewery along with guest beers, local gin, whisky and more. In terms of food they have hot dogs, burgers, fries, onion rings and more.
Project 53 Stockport
This is the concept of Cheshire based Mobberley Brewhouse.
The bar has a mix of keg and cask beer, cocktails, gins, whisky along with bar snacks and a range of pizza and share boards.
The Good Rebel
The first of the bars brought to Stockport by Martin Healy, a former hair salon near the marketplace that’s turned into a popular bar.
It’s major selling point is the large cocktail menu and table service.
The Glass Spider
The second of the bars brought to Stockport by Jo Patten, a former Viking themed tapas bar called Vinabod.
A variety of keg beers and ciders on tap, along with beer in bottles and cans. Range of bar snacks on offer too.
This Godless Place
The second of the bars brought to Stockport by Martin Healy, a former bank near the marketplace.
Offering a range of cocktails, draft and bottle beer, breakfast menu along with a lunch and dinner menu.
The Produce Hall
The former produce hall within the marketplace is now a hospitality venue full of independent food traders, bar, cocktail bar and events venue.
Doctor Feelgood
The site has been through some changes on the maketplace and this is now the second bar to be on the site which is serving beer, cocktails and a spicy menu.
Bistro Marc at Winters
Bringing French style and alfresco dining to the heart of Stockport. From beer, wine and cider to the food they produce within the kitchen it’s a wonderful addition to the town.
The Spinn Off
The sister bar to Gatley based The Spinn by Adam Thomas and street food chef, Scott Graham. The Spinn Off bar offers beer, cocktails and gourmet pies.
Town Bar
One of the newest residents to Underbank. They have a cocktails and bottled lager and cider on offer.
The Petersgate Tap
Known as ‘The Tap’ to the regulars. This bar offers a wide range of cask beer, some keg beer, cider, wine, gins and whisky.
They also offer a variety of bar snacks which include pork scratchings and pies from Littlewoods Butchers.
Enigma
The name says it all really, along with the artwork and decor of the bar. They offer a range of beer, bottled beer and ciders, cocktails and more.
They also do quiz nights and a variety of other entertainment throughout the month and will soon be offering food as part of their Foodie Friyay.
